Online Credit Card Fraud by Postcode, United Kingdom, 2009

The research comes from industry body The 3rd Man which provides fraud analysis and consultancy services to large UK retailers such as Argos, Halfords and Ticketmaster and monitors a fifth of the UK's card transactions.

They analyzed 85m transactions from August 2008-August 2009, identifying card frauds across the UK by postcode. Interestingly, there are hotspots of activity - and at least £85m in identifiable 'bad' transactions.

The data is geocoded by postcode and includes number of transactions, Total value in £, number of goods ordered, number of frauds, fraud value in £, and percent(%) of good and bad transactions.
