This dataset is a compilation of housing-related variables for selected MSAs/CBSAs in the United States - from 2000-2007 depending on the availability of data for each variable
.The dataset contains the following information (levels and percent changes for each):
Housing Price Indices (HPI): Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight (http://www.ofheo.gov/hpi)
Building Permits: U.S. Census [edited] The original data is county-level by month - the numbers were aggregated (summed) to MSA and over 12 months for each year.
Population and Components of Change: U.S. Census [edited] Rates and Employment: Bureau of Labor Statistics, Local Area Unemployment Statistics (http://www.bls.gov/LAU/). The original data is county-level - labor, unemployment and employment numbers were aggregated (summed) to MSA and unemployment rates for the MSAs calculated.
Per Capita Income: Bureau of Economic Statistics, Regional Economic Accounts (http://www.bea.gov/regional/reis/)
