"The number assigned to a lease or unit by the regulatory agency having jurisdiction over mineral activity in the territory where the wells are located. The OGOR requires wells be reported either on a Lease or Unit. Therefore, this file does not provide both. The MRM lease or unit number is 11 digits. To convert the MRM lease number to the OMM format, do the following:

If characters 1-3 of the MRM Contract Number are equal '054'

replace the '054' with letter G' then add to characters 5-9 of contract number; e.g., 0540011010 = G01101

If characters 1-3 of the MRM Contract Number are equal to '055';

replace '055' with a space ' ' then add to characters 5-9 of contract number; e.g., 0550008420 = (space)00842

If characters 1-3 of the MRM Contract Number are not equal to above values, the number could be a unit or could be an invalid number."
