NDFD NOAA, Forecast of Ike related storm surge of five ft or more along Gulf Coast, USA, 5 AM Sep 10, 2008

As tropical storm Ike enters Gulf of Mexico, (GOM) as a weak category 1 hurricane with sustained winds of 85 miles, after causing extensive damage across Haiti and Cuba, it may regain its strength to become a category 3 hurricane. NOAA's periodic forecasts show it charting a course across the GOM and making eventual landfall in Southern Texas coast near Corpus Christi sometime between Fri and Sat.
